1. Purpose of The Bootroom
The Bootroom provides free football boots, sportswear and essential equipment to children and
young people aged 0–17 across Swansea and surrounding areas. We also supply items directly to
schools, grassroots clubs, community centres, teachers, youth workers, coaches and community
organisations who collect on behalf of young people. Our purpose is to remove financial barriers
and ensure every child can participate in sport.
2. Zero-Tolerance Policy on Resale
2.1 Absolute Ban
Any item supplied by The Bootroom must NOT be sold, traded, pawned, exchanged, raffled, listed
online (such as Facebook Marketplace, Vinted, eBay, Depop), or used for any form of personal
financial gain. No exceptions.
2.2 Misuse of Charity Property
Reselling charity-issued items is treated as fraudulent behaviour, dishonest acquisition of charitable
property, and misuse or theft of charity assets.
2.3 Consequences & Enforcement
If there is evidence or reasonable suspicion of resale, The Bootroom will take immediate action:
- Permanent lifetime ban from receiving support.
- Cancellation of all pending or future requests.
- Refusal of future collections from any organisation found complicit.
- Reporting to the police, safeguarding teams, schools, clubs or community organisations.
- Civil recovery of misused items where appropriate.
- Sharing information with partner charities to prevent repeated misuse.
3. Eligibility
3.1 Children & Young People (0–17)
All young people aged 0–17 are eligible to receive items. No referral is required.
3.2 Adults Acting on Behalf of Children
Parents, carers, teachers, coaches, youth workers, schools, clubs, community centres and verified
organisations may collect items strictly on behalf of young people.3.3 Adult Sizes for Children
Adult-sized boots or clothing may be supplied only when required for a young person.
3.4 No Adult Provision
The Bootroom does not provide items for adults. All items are strictly for under-18s.
4. Honesty & Integrity
Applicants must provide accurate and truthful information. Dishonesty, misuse or manipulation of
the service may result in temporary suspension, permanent exclusion, or reporting to safeguarding
or law enforcement bodies.
5. Behaviour & Conduct
All recipients must treat volunteers with respect. Support may be refused or withdrawn if behaviour
is abusive, aggressive, threatening, dishonest, manipulative, unsafe, or in breach of these Terms &
Conditions.
6. Items Supplied
Items may be new or used depending on donations. The Bootroom cannot guarantee specific
brands, colours, identical items, or availability of high-demand sizes. All items are provided as-is,
free of charge.
7. Safeguarding & Confidentiality
We follow strict safeguarding procedures. Information shared with The Bootroom is used only for
logging requests, stock management, fair distribution and safeguarding. We never publicly identify
recipients without explicit consent.
8. Donations
All donated items become the property of The Bootroom. Items may be redistributed, recycled, or
used for fundraising or outreach where appropriate.
9. Liability
The Bootroom is not responsible for injuries or accidents while using donated equipment, suitability
of items, or wear and tear after collection. Items are used at the recipient’s discretion.
10. Amendments
The Bootroom may update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The most recent
version supersedes previous versions.
11. Acceptance of TermsBy collecting or accepting items from The Bootroom, individuals and organisations confirm that they
have read and understood these Terms & Conditions, agree to comply fully, acknowledge the strict
ban on resale, and accept all associated consequences.
